Spend a day travelling to the west coast of Scotland through a landscape of outstanding natural beauty, rich in history, myths and legends; a land of battles, feuds, and cattle-stealing; a land of ancient castles mirrored in lochs, sheltered by mountains.
Our "ROAD TO THE ISLES" is marked by dramatic castles (STIRLING, DOUNE, KILCHURN, INVERARAY, DUNSTAFFNAGE, DUNDERAWE and DUMBARTON), shimmering lochs (LOCHS LOMOND, LONG, FYNE, AWE, ETIVE and more) imposing mountains and rugged glens.
Enjoy stops at the picturesque fishing town of OBAN with its HORSE-SHOE BAY looking out to the HEBRIDES, and INVERARAY with its demure GEORGIAN HOUSES at the water's edge in the shadow of the CLAN CAMPBELL CHIEF's NEO-GOTHIC PALACE. You can visit either INVERARAY or DUNSTAFFNAGE CASTLE (subject to seasonal opening times).
Climbing from sea level at LOCH FYNE we can "REST AND BE THANKFUL" at the summit of the pass before descending to LOCH LOMOND, a brief stop in LUSS, on its "BONNIE, BONNIE BANKS" and a relaxed journey back to EDINBURGH via GLASGOW.
Come with us to ARGYLL and be bewitched by the West!
